Calling all businesses online
Well as you may already know, it’s damm hard to find really good independent contractors (ICs) to work for you and be responsible, loyal, skilled and don’t lie about their skills.
Some are so bad, they refuse to fill out timesheets, fill out online applications, they bash me because there’s any kind of organization or paperwork involved in running a business, it’s NUTS!
They would rather lose money and a great place to work, than be at a business that requires any kind of organization.
If you are a fly by night company, you probably don’t care.
If you are like me, you want quality, and to grow your business and you know you can’t do it without a stable team in place and getting the business very very organized.
This is SUCH a big issue online, I’ve decided to start a blog helping you before you hire the nutcases, and they are a dime a dozen out there. In fact I’m convinced the reason a lot of them work online is because no self respecting company offline would keep them around. They of course claim it’s for different reasons, but based on their behavior, it’s clear there is something emotionally unstable about them.
If you find an independent contractors – freelancers yourself who you feel should be put on this list, feel free to contact me and we’ll put him/her on this blog. You will be required to provide contact information, as people have the right to know who is saying negative things about them.
Us businesses need to stick together. These independent contractors – freelancers have boards all over the place warning others of companies who steal and while I agree they should warn others of unethical companies who steal (I DON’T tolerate stealing), there doesn’t seem to be anything out there about all these independent contractors – freelancers who not only rip us off, but truly have deep emotional issues and waste our time.
I’m getting better at finding quality people, but it’s not easy, and has cost me a lot of time, money and energy.
I’m a secure person who cares about her team.
I don’t go around bashing people, but when people go out of their way to cause me pain because it makes them feel good, or I tell them they lost the chance to work for us because they didn’t read the application and fill it out properly and then they blame me for their actions, I feel you have the right to know about it.
I will get over it, I’m much more grounded than that, BUT, you may want to be forewarned about what I have experienced.
I’m not saying you won’t have a different experience, you may have, but at least you will have read someone else’s point of view.
