Rating independent contractors – freelancers to help businesses decide who they even wish to interview

Sion applied to our website coder position.

He didn’t read the hiring ad & follow the instructions, so I politely told him he isn’t suited for this company.

He proceeded to show his deep insecurity by trying to prove to me that WE made the biggest mistake in not hiring him. Not once did he apologize, in the end all he did was blame our screening process for his failures which is very typical of a low level C worker.

High end workers would NEVER blame others for their actions, they know when they make mistakes & they rectify them.

Here are just some of the immature comments Sion made…

“I suppose you have feel your reasons for being this strict are justified but you have lost the opportunity to work with a dedicated, highly skilled, loyal and extremely hardworking individual.”

and

“No, I am that good.

I never thought I shouldn’t be screened, how else are you going to find people who fit your profile? I just think your screening process is designed to provide you with the satisfaction of cutting someone off at the knees rather that actually finding someone skilled enough for the job.”

I kept asking him to stop writing me, but he wouldn’t, so it started to feel like harassment.

I finally stopped it altogether by ignoring him & I feel others should know what this worker is really like.

“Oh Michelle, why so hostile?

Why are you insulting me? Because I dared to write back when you said the conversation was over?
Isn’t the conversation over when I say it is? Or are you such a big boss that you are the boss of people you haven’t even hired?
L-O-L to you.”

Barron Brantley harasses our company

Barron Brantley
Atlanta, Georgia
barronbrantley@hotmail.com

Barron first responded to our ad for tech support position back in September of 2006.

He was out of our price range or there was another reason we didn’t hire him. I didn’t conduct the initial interview, so I don’t know. All I know is that I told him we weren’t interested.

Then starting October 15, 2008 he started e-mailing me out of the blue asking if we had any positions available for him. He sent his resume.

I told him we don’t take resumes, he can go to our web page that lists all our open positions, & if he’s qualified, he can respond from there.

I never heard from him again, so I figured he wasn’t qualified for anything we had open.

Again on February 12, 2009, he e-mailed again, not listening to my instructions.

I ignored him & deleted his e-mail hoping he would go away – he didn’t.

Then again on June 15, 2009 he e-mails again. I tell him one last time that we don’t like to be e-mailed, he can bookmark our positions page & respond to there if he is qualified.

He takes offense to what I say, saying… “First point, I don’t email you every few months as you stated, so please get your facts straight. Second point, I always try to build a repor with an individual being that it is mainly who you know, not so much what you know, but I understand the fact now that you are not interested in that…Wont happen with you again. Third point, you obviously have had a unpleasant day from the tone in your reply to my email, I do pray for you and hope things get better.

Thank you for your reply, you will not be “Bothered” by me again. Take care and I want
you continue to prosper in life.”

I was shocked at his condescending religious dialog & how he thinks asking someone for a job is creating “rapport” LOL

I lost my temper at his tone & told him off.

This guy has been contacting us every few months, he lies about it, then instead of just saying he will bookmark that site & not contact me unless he is qualified for a position, he tries to blame me for his mistakes. Then he tries to use “prayer & my life” to put me down.

If he had actually followed instructions, I would have been impressed with him wanting to work for our company & keeping in touch, but he didn’t.

I asked him NOT to contact me again, I don’t put up with this kind of behavior & religious doctrine which belongs in a church, not in a company.

He once again didn’t listen & wrote…

“Since you are not religious, then you wont mind me calling you a BITCH!!!”

Thank god we never hired him.

Tammy Lindley

Tammy Lindley
Silver Spring, Maryland

tammyalindley@hotmail.com

Tammy responded to our Technical Admin position, so we forwarded her our application to fill out.

After that, Tammy PMed us from Guru insinuating that we were being unprofessional & trying to scam her into starting a business opportunity by forking over money, or that the position wasn’t what we had originally stated.

“Thank you, but I’m only interested in becoming an Admin Assistant.

The application was very specific, however, after reading through, I feel this position is either sales/promoting/marketing or some sort of investment for becoming my own business/company and this not something I’d be interested in.

I would have liked some further understanding of the position, but in all of your requirements, nowhere was there any explanations.  And that sounds a bell.

Thank you.”

We wrote back telling her we didn’t know what she was talking about, the hiring ad clearly explained the position, & that she has been deleted as a potential candidate. Of course we would never consider hiring anyone who behaves in this manner, nor is it a company’s responsibility to fully explain a position before they have screened & interviewed a potential team member. In fact, our hiring ads give a lot of detail as to what the team member will be doing.

The bottom line is, this is NOT how business is done, but unfortunately so many independent contractors online have this attitude that they deserve the world, & that the company should bow down to them instead of them fighting to get a position with the company.

Like all professional companies, we have a procedure in place, & that’s screening the application first, but we find that some independent contractors have this sense of “entitlement”. They don’t like being screened, they feel they are better than that.

She was clearly very confused, or someone who lives in a tremendous amount of fear to go around accusing our company of something we were NOT doing. Yes we sell a business opportunity, but NO, we did NOT try & sell this Tammy character our business opportunity. We were sincere (as always) in looking for someone to add to our team.

We believe she then went & lied to Guru telling them the same thing, that we tried to sell her on something instead of what we were really doing, which was offering a REAL position.

Beware of very dysfunctional independent contractors online who go around causing trouble. This Tammy Lindley lives in a dream world making up stories because she lives in a constant state of fear, then when we are honest with her, she runs to tattle on us as if she is still 10 years old.
