Rating independent contractors – freelancers to help businesses decide who they even wish to interview

Tammy responded to our Technical Admin position, so we forwarded her our application to fill out.

After that, Tammy PMed us from Guru insinuating that we were being unprofessional & trying to scam her into starting a business opportunity by forking over money, or that the position wasn’t what we had originally stated.

“Thank you, but I’m only interested in becoming an Admin Assistant.

The application was very specific, however, after reading through, I feel this position is either sales/promoting/marketing or some sort of investment for becoming my own business/company and this not something I’d be interested in.

I would have liked some further understanding of the position, but in all of your requirements, nowhere was there any explanations.  And that sounds a bell.

Thank you.”

We wrote back telling her we didn’t know what she was talking about, the hiring ad clearly explained the position, & that she has been deleted as a potential candidate. Of course we would never consider hiring anyone who behaves in this manner, nor is it a company’s responsibility to fully explain a position before they have screened & interviewed a potential team member. In fact, our hiring ads give a lot of detail as to what the team member will be doing.

The bottom line is, this is NOT how business is done, but unfortunately so many independent contractors online have this attitude that they deserve the world, & that the company should bow down to them instead of them fighting to get a position with the company.

Like all professional companies, we have a procedure in place, & that’s screening the application first, but we find that some independent contractors have this sense of “entitlement”. They don’t like being screened, they feel they are better than that.

She was clearly very confused, or someone who lives in a tremendous amount of fear to go around accusing our company of something we were NOT doing. Yes we sell a business opportunity, but NO, we did NOT try & sell this Tammy character our business opportunity. We were sincere (as always) in looking for someone to add to our team.

We believe she then went & lied to Guru telling them the same thing, that we tried to sell her on something instead of what we were really doing, which was offering a REAL position.

Beware of very dysfunctional independent contractors online who go around causing trouble. This Tammy Lindley lives in a dream world making up stories because she lives in a constant state of fear, then when we are honest with her, she runs to tattle on us as if she is still 10 years old.

This company is Exotic Publishing. On http://www.guru.com, they listed the address as Nelsonville, OH 45764 – USA, but who really knows where they are? BBB states an exotic publishing as:
Exotic Publishing
266 Elmwood Ave.
Buffalo, NY 14222

One thing is for sure. “Michelle” is a very angry person and proof will be shown to you if you read all of Exotic Publishing’s submissions on this site. Apparantly, they get very angry when someone will not do as they like them to do. It seems this company or it’s representatives use sites like this to vent their anger. Please see all sides of Michelle’s complaints.

Here is an exerpt from http://WWW.Guru.com

Dear Tammy,

Thank you for contacting Guru.com. I truly appreciate you bringing this project to our attention. This employer was removed from our site in the past and has recreated a new account with false/misleading information. I have closed down her account and her information will be monitored in an effort to prevent her from registering again.

Thank you,

Lisa

Ok, I will address this…

My assistant created that account & he lives in OH, so there is no hiding anything.

You don’t have to concern yourself with our address. Why? So you can cause further damage?

This is why we don’t give out our address to people like you, because people like you go around online trying to hurt others by lying, or making a mountain out of a mole hill.

You live in fear & so you make up stories to justify your fear.

Touting Guru as an example of ethical professional behavior is a joke LOL

That company allows independent contractors to use & abuse companies & since I never allow anyone to treat me in that way, I was booted.

Tammy, you are a prime example of the one-sided tactics that Guru takes.

Some workers on Guru.com run to their “mommy” crying that someone hurt them, & Guru doesn’t look at the COMPLETE story, instead they automatically side with the independent contractor.

Sites like Guru are what is wrong with the working environment online.

So long as workers are allowed to talk to the BOSS like the way they do, the rift between independent contractors & the people who employ them will widen.

Long gone are the days when the workers respected the boss, or if they were thinking something, they didn’t have the gumption to say it out loud.

You can’t hide behind your monitor Tammy, because I can tell you right now, had this happened in a brick & mortar company, you wouldn’t have dared done what you did!

No one likes Guru my dear, that’s why when I was listening to a very popular radio show 2 weeks ago & they were talking about how to work online, 2 other sites we have used in the past were mentioned & Guru wasn’t.

No one wants to go near Guru. They have complaints a mile long.

Oh & you can go run back to your mommy (Lisa at Guru) & show her this post, because I suspect that is what you will do.

It’s time to grow up Tammy & stop living in fear. We simply told you we had no idea what you were talking about & we didn’t appreciate you accusing us of something that wasn’t true & you couldn’t handle that.

What is the world coming to when a boss tells an applicant they have been deleted from the pool of applicants & the worker goes off on the company.

I never did anything to you that warranted your behavior.

Maybe next time you will think twice before treating companies online like you treated us.

I hope I can save at least one company from that disrespect & childish behavior.

Tammy is back to her tricks of lying.

In fact I appreciate all the lies that Tammy is spreading because this makes me feel very comfortable in the fact that I put her on this blog in the first place. Sometimes a person just has a bad day & I wonder if I should have posted about them, but after Tammy continues to lie & try to cause trouble, it’s clear to me this is just who Tammy is as a person.

She wrote to the BBB & lied saying she was a potential client.

LOL, Tammy is NOT & NEVER was a potential client of Exotic Publishing, nor would I ever accept Tammy as a client, as I only deal with honest nice people.

To recap although my post above is clear…

Tammy tried to get work from Exotic Publishing, & when she refused to fill out our simple online application & then proceeded to lie saying we are scammers, I put her on this blog.

Here is what she wrote to the BBB…

“This company has mislead themsleves and when I did not purchase their product, the Most Trusted Advisor, Michelle posted negative feedback and has tried to slander my name online. I have done nothing to the aforemention except denied their services and after verbal abuse from the Most Trusted Advisor, Michelle, I decided to take action against the company by letting others know how they deal with people who do not buy their service.

——————————–

Customer is Seeking————-

I would like people to know that The Most Trusted Advisor Michelle cannot be trusted at all. Other sites have pulled and deleted the Exotic Publishing Accounts because they simply cannot be Trusted.”

I have notified the BBB that Tammy is NOT a client, never has been, never tried to be, & that she is lying to try & discredit Exotic Publishing as being a reputable ethical honest company.

Any one of my numerous clients will attest to that.

Thank you

Michelle
