A Message to all Independent Contractors

I really feel the need to post this to all independent contractors.

Some of you may read it & understand, others will get angry, & that’s your choice how you feel by my words.

I am not here to cause a war, but I won’t sit idly by & say nothing when people lie, play games & pretend they are something they aren’t.

I don’t care if this is the Internet, this doesn’t give YOU (you people know who you are) the right to lie about your skill, it doesn’t give you the right to talk to the boss like they are your worst enemy out on the playground at school. If you wouldn’t talk that way to them face to face, you have NO RIGHT to talk to them that way via IM or in an e-mail.

Can I stop you, no I can’t, but I will let others know that this is how you treat the people you work for or work with.

If you can’t do a skill that is required, DON’T RESPOND TO THE HIRING AD that asks for that skill. If you don’t have the time do the work when you were supposed to, then DON’T RESPOND TO THE HIRING AD!

If you are here just to drum up business for the next several week, months, or years DON’T RESPOND TO THE HIRING AD.

Companies don’t want you to drum up business for the future, they want you to do the work NOW. If they like your work & you work well with them, then they will most probably give you more tasks, but NOTHING bothers me more than independent contractors who are constantly asking me for more work over & over again, or doing a sales pitch saying they can do this or that for me (this is all done before they are even hired), then they sell me on hiring them, & then BAMM, the work I did hire them for NEVER GETS DONE. They disappear, lead me on, & weren’t even skilled to do the work they said they were skilled at.

I don’t even know what to call that personality trait, because I find it so very odd that someone would actually do that, but this hasn’t only happened to me just once.

If you aren’t very intelligent, that’s fine, I’m not here to judge you, but DON’T respond to a hiring ad that requires a person be very intelligent & sharp. You should know how smart you are.

I don’t like it when you lie to me & I know you think you can get away with it because you won’t see me face to face, but you won’t get away with it. Do you really think your manager or boss isn’t going to find out you have no idea what you are doing?

If you think you can just disappear because it doesn’t matter since this is the Internet, think again. You have no right to treat companies in this manner. If you want to leave, politely tell the company why & give them 1-2 weeks notice.

If at any time during the screening process you don’t feel comfortable with the company, find a way to bow out. Stringing the company along, or saying yes to their offer of the position & then disappearing is disrespectful & certainly unprofessional.

If you are out looking for a job, you HAVE to be responsible, communicate in a timely manner, & follow all the same common sense rules you would if you were walking into a brick & mortar office for work.

If the only reason you want to work online is so that you can have the freedom to be irresponsible, nasty, lie about your skills, blame me when you can’t product quality, overcharge, leave work unfinished, disappear, etc., then this is EXACTLY why you will make it onto this blog.

Us online companies aren’t looking for the low end of the totem pole when it comes to hiring, & I for one am NOT looking for you to use me for money until you get yourself a full time job offline. Not unless you are hired for only one short project.

We are looking for quality workers who care about our company, so if you think this is all a joke, then don’t get all upset when you find yourself on this blog after you blamed the boss for your lack of skill or actions.

I can bet you $1,000 right now that you wouldn’t have the NERVE to tell a boss to screw off to his/her face.

So for those of you who lied about my company here, saying I scam people just because you can’t handle what was written about you, this just further proves what kind of a person you are. You can’t even come up with hard facts to support your claims.

I would NEVER post anything that is untrue as I don’t lie, it’s not in my nature to do so. In fact, the reason my posts are so long is because I do go into great detail about what transpired.

I don’t hate people, LOL, I have better things to do with my time than sit around hating people.

Do I get angry when the incident first occurs? Yes, I do, my time & money has been wasted, & I’m not talking a few minutes here, I’m talking hours & hours have been invested in hiring people. Chances are that I’ve just been disrespected by the independent contractor, but that doesn’t mean I sit around all day spewing or hating people who have come & gone.

I don’t expect every working relationship to work out, but I do expect at least 75% of them to work out & I will admit I’m not always the best manager, but I do try & I’m always learning. I just have a very hard time dealing with people who aren’t intelligent, can’t communicate well, aren’t responsible, & say they are skilled at something when they aren’t. I frankly don’t know how to deal with this issue & I doubt I ever will.

What I did do, is I started passing people along to my assistant & even he couldn’t handle the people who were so inept, so that coupled with me hearing other companies complain, I know it’s not about me, it’s about the whole mindset of independent contractors online, or the quality of people who end up working online. They seem to be the bottom of the barrel, but then again brick & mortar companies complain about employees too.

Online though, one thing is for sure, there is NO respect, it’s as simple as that.

It really is unfortunate that so many independent contractors don’t get that these are real jobs, real companies, & all companies want is to grow & for me, I want a family of workers. I love my entire team most of the time.  LOL

For the rest of you reading this who don’t know me from Eve, you’ve never heard from the members of my team who have been with me for over 2 years. You are only reading a couple of people who were outed on this blog, & who then went to lie about me being a scam.

Ask yourself this, how do they know I’m a scam? LOL, do they know the inner workings of the company & how I supposedly scam my clients? No, they were fired or they disappeared after a week to a few weeks & that is the reason why they ended up on this blog in the first place. Look, they won’t even post their real name.

Trust me, I don’t put every single person on this blog, the blog would have like over 300 people on it if I did that. I only put down the ones who lie, or are nasty & cause us real grief by stringing us along, or steal from us getting money for work they either didn’t finish or was of such poor quality, that it had to be redone again.

So I hope for the smart independent contractors out there who really do wish to find a company they can grow with, I hope you see facts for what they are. You don’t know me, & I understand there are a lot of companies out there who rip off independent contractors, but we are NOT one of them.

Thank you
